Sponsoring Treatment for Brain-Injured Veterans
March 2022 is the final month where you can receive a 2021 tax credit for your donation for sponsoring brain-injured veterans.
Healing Arizona Veterans is an all volunteer-run organization that uses private donations to sponsor the treatment for these military veterans. The treatment utilizes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) and adjunctive therapies at private facilities.
We serve veterans across the state, and we utilize treatments that heal. 96% of our donations go toward the treatment of veterans.
It costs an average of $15,000 to treat one veteran.
Our goal is to treat 100 veterans initially for a total of $1.5 million.
For each dollar donated to Healing Arizona Veterans, $.96 or greater goes towards paying for the treatment. That means 4% or less will be used for administrative costs (e.g. salaries, marketing, etc.) Many veteran charities have 35% or greater of the donations received going towards administrative costs.
Health insurance does not cover expenses related to the treatment for brain injury. Instead, Medicare and private insurance cover only certain conditions such as carbon monoxide poisoning; however, nothing related to brain health is currently insured.
We Deliver Results
Since 2017, and as of October of 2021, we have treated 42 veterans within the various branches of military through generous donations with an additional 28 veterans are receiving treatment.
Private donations are currently the only way to pay for providing this life-changing therapy to brain injured veterans. As a 501c3 charity and a Qualified Charitable Organization (QCO) in the State of Arizona, your donation qualifies for Federal and Arizona tax credit.

What is HBOT?
HBOT is treatment that is provided when a patient sits inside a chamber, under pressure that is greater than atmospheric pressure (for neurological conditions, this is typically one-half atmospheres above ambient pressure) and patients breathe 100% medical oxygen. Typical treatment time spent in the chamber for recovery from TBI is one hour under pressure per session.
